The expected working life in Europe offers more than a snapshot of job trends; it reflects how citizens live, work, and contribute to society. Between 2015 and 2024, shifts in labor force participation have pointed to longer working lives, stronger engagement across age groups, and a move toward more balanced gender employment. In 2024, the EU average reached 37.2 years, with men expected to work 4.2 years longer than women. This indicator estimates how many years a person aged 15 can expect to spend in the labor force over the course of their life.
