A baby was recently born aboard a Caribbean Airlines flight traveling from Jamaica to New York. The airline confirmed that the unexpected delivery—described as a "medical event"—took place on flight BW005, which left Kingston on April 4. Once the aircraft touched down, both mother and child received immediate medical attention and continued care.
Caribbean Airlines allows expectant mothers to fly up to their 32nd week of pregnancy without requiring any medical documentation. Between the 32 and 35-week mark, however, the situation changes and the airline requires a doctor's clearance. Beyond the 35-week threshold, pregnant passengers are barred from flying altogether.
