Mexico’s Fátima Bosch has been crowned Miss Universe 2025, this at the pageant final in Bangkok, Thailand, on November 20. She receives the title following her viral berating by a then-executive of the pageant.
Indeed, the result follows weeks of turmoil for the Miss Universe organization. A viral livestream earlier this month showed pageant executive Nawat Itsaragrisil publicly berating Bosch, prompting several contestants to walk out. In the days leading up to the final, three judges resigned amid claims of an unofficial selection committee and potential conflicts of interest. The organization has denied all accusations.
Despite the controversy, more than 130 contestants competed in this year’s event, themed “The Power of Love.”
