Each year, millions of pilgrims stream to a hilltop in Mexico’s capital city, upon which stands the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. There, on December 12, the pilgrims gather for the annual feast day.
It is truly an astonishing sight to behold, as faithful Catholics travel to the hilltop via a dozen different means of transportation. Anyone witnessing the event would see people descend on the city by bike, by foot, and oftentimes even crawling on their knees.
