National Park Service (NPS) has been a partner in film production for over a century. Established in 1916 as a US federal agency to manage over 400 protected natural, historical, and recreational sites, including parks and monuments, the NPS has also enjoyed a supporting role in numerous movies filmed across the United States.
National parks are found in all 50 states, the vast majority of them pristine landscapes of mountains, forests, deserts, and seashores.
