The first kiss on film
- 'The Kiss' (1896) was one of the first films ever shown commercially to the public. Around 18 seconds long, it depicts a re-enactment of the kiss between May Irwin and John Rice from the final scene of the stage musical 'The Widow Jones.' This is the very first kiss on film, denounced as shocking and obscene by early moviegoers.

When romance is in the air, why not show it with a kiss? In the movies, couples kiss on cue. Some kisses are tender; some positively smolder. A few are quite sinister. And there are others that take the words right out of your mouth!
