What many thought would be just another box-office flop, ‘The Bride!’ (2026), starring Christian Bale, has found new success on streaming platforms overnight after its release. The gothic sci-fi romance film, which also stars Jessie Buckley, Peter Sarsgaard, Annette Bening, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Penélope Cruz, has claimed the top spot on streaming platforms, according to FlixPatrol and the HBO Max Top 10 Movies in the United States chart.
Written and directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, the movie is inspired by 'Bride of Frankenstein’ (1935). Despite grossing only US$24 million worldwide for its theatrical run so far, which falls short of expectations for a production with a budget between $80-$90 million, the film is continuing to gain popularity among audiences on streaming platforms.
