Sean “Diddy” Combs was taken to hospital after a fight with a convicted drug lord, a source told People.
Combs was transported from Fort Dix federal prison in New Jersey to a nearby hospital on October 10, People previously confirmed through a source familiar with the matter. The source said his injury was not life-threatening. He returned to prison later that day and was placed in solitary confinement again.
TMZ first reported that Combs had been hospitalized for a head injury. The circumstances of the fight have not been disclosed.
The medical emergency comes amid continued scrutiny of his prison conditions. Last month, four men who had spent time in the same unit told NBC News that Combs allegedly enjoyed unusual privileges, including access to people who cooked and cleaned for him, a cell phone, antidepressants, and premium liquor. A Bureau of Prisons representative declined to comment on inmates’ conditions, citing privacy, safety, and security concerns.
After the reports of his alleged privileges made headlines, Combs was reportedly returned to solitary confinement. His prison release date was also pushed back.
