Lady Gaga has called off a tour date on medical orders. The 40-year-old performer took to her Instagram stories on April 6 to announce she would not be playing her final show at Montreal's Bell Centre in Quebec, Canada, due to a respiratory infection that has worsened.
In her message, the artist explained: "I'm so sorry to share that I'm unable to perform tonight and have to cancel the show. I've been fighting a respiratory infection for the past few days and doing everything I can to rest and recover, but it's gotten worse. My doctor has strongly advised me not to perform today and to be honest I don't think I could give you the quality of a performance today that you deserve."
She finished her message saying, "To everyone who was coming tonight I'm absolutely heartbroken and so sorry."
The Mayhem Ball Tour brought Gaga to Montreal for performances on April 2 and April 3, with the artist missing the third date. Following her Canadian shows, she has three remaining stops scheduled in the US: two in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and a final show at Madison Square Garden in New York City on April 13.
