Taylor Swift will not be competing for a Grammy nomination in any category for the year 2026, marking the first time since she was 17. The explanation for this is that Swift didn’t release a new album or single during the eligibility period, which was between August 31, 2024, and August 30, 2025. Her most recent album, 'The Life of a Showgirl,' was released after the cutoff period, in October 2025.
Back in 2007 when she was 17, Swift was eligible to be nominated for Best Country Song and Best Female Country Vocal Performance for her debut single 'Tim McGraw,' but was ultimately not entered into either category—potentially due to her commitments in high school.
Nonetheless, Taylor Swift can boast an extraordinary number of achievements she has accumulated throughout her career. She has broken numerous records: from being the youngest artist ever to receive a Grammy for Album of the Year when she did so in 2010, to winning that same award for the fourth time (becoming the first artist to do so) in 2024.
