Skyscrapers are some of humanity’s most impressive feats of engineering. The buildings we see populating cities today were mostly constructed in the last century, while some cities were built only in the last 50 years. Architectural breakthroughs have also allowed the number of buildings to skyrocket.
Vertical development has spread across continents. Although the United States is arguably the origin of the modern skyscraper, other countries claim the title of hosting the most. Indeed, of the 30 cities with the most skyscrapers, 14 are in China!
