The world's bloodiest conflicts result from political and diplomatic tensions between two or more countries, which is why certain nations have strict and often intimidating defense policies. Given the current global political landscape, nuclear weapons pose a significant threat.
Recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated a drill involving the nation's nuclear forces, which included missile launches designed to simulate a retaliatory response. This move comes as he aims to showcase Russia's nuclear capabilities in light of increasing tensions with the West concerning Ukraine.
In a video conference with military leaders, Putin stated that the exercises would mimic the actions of senior officials in the event of nuclear weapon deployment, featuring launches of both nuclear-capable ballistic and cruise missiles.
Currently, there are approximately 12,100 nuclear warheads in the world. Several countries now have nuclear capacity and the ability to produce nuclear weapons.
Read through the gallery to discover the top 10 countries with the most powerful nuclear weapons.
