Carnival is usually a celebratory time early in the year, during which citizens around the world don extravagant outfits, play loud music, and dance through the streets. But, as with so many other beloved events this past year, Carnival has largely been canceled.
Still, people have not let the spirit die. Parade floats are turned into street installations, homes are transformed into “house floats,” and costumes and performances are finding their way into living rooms one way or another.
