Digital nomad

President Bongbong Marcos of the Philippines has announced that the country is launching a new digital nomad visa, which will enable eligible applicants to work there for two years. The program hasn’t been officially opened, but it is expected to kick off in the next few months.

"To further boost tourism and economy in the country, there is a need to establish a legal framework to facilitate the entry of digital nomads in the country, or foreign nationals who desire to temporarily stay in the Philippines while engaging in remote work activities for overseas employers or clients," the president said.

To qualify for the visa, applicants will need to be at least 18 years old, show that they will be working remotely, provide proof of sufficient income and a clean criminal record, and possess valid health insurance during their stay.Indeed, remote work is all the rage now. Some people manage to find a way to do so full time, while others are able to negotiate with their employers for a few months working away from the office.

So, where would you go? Apart from the Philippines, there are many countries that offer 'digital nomad' visas for remote workers seeking to spend some time abroad. We’ve compiled a list of some of the easiest and most attractive options for you.
