Instead of simply counting routes, the index looks at how many possible connections a traveler could make within a six-hour window on a busy travel day.
The report showcases how carefully an airport’s schedule is coordinated and how effectively its main airlines link cities across regions. It also explains why some smaller airports with with lesser connections and better organization outperform larger airports with more scattered schedules.
