Hit TV shows that were rebooted
'Black Panther' director Ryan Coogler to "remount" 'The X-Files' with diverse cast, series creator says

TV shows have been part of our lives for as long as many of us can remember. But not all TV shows are created equal; some series have been more successful than others and, of course, some we do miss and others we don't. When one of our favorite long-lost series is rebooted, it's always a nerve-racking wait to see if it does the original show justice or is simply a money-grab.
Director Ryan Coogler is set to "remount" 'The X-Files,' says Chris Carter, the creator of the paranormal series starring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. Carter told CBC's 'On the Coast' on March 27 that he spoke with the 'Black Panther' and 'Creed' director about remaking the drama, whose original run aired on Fox from 1993 to 2002 and was revived for two more seasons in 2016 and 2018.
"I just spoke to a young man, Ryan Coogler, who is going to remount 'The X-Files' with a diverse cast," Carter said. "So, he's got his work cut out for him because we covered so much territory." Carter believes the show will need a lot of tweaking for modern audiences, however, because "We're so steeped in conspiracies now." He added, "The X-Files dealt with a central conspiracy, but now the world is so full of conspiracies that I think that it would be a different show."
