Curiosities

Dan Greaney, a four-time Emmy winner and former ‘The Simpsons’ writer who 'predicted' Donald Trump becoming the US president, has declared that he will be running for president in the 2028 US election.

In a campaign video shared on Instagram, Greaney referred to himself as a "self-proclaimed prophet" while dressed as a wizard, as he criticized the current government and political leaders.

Greaney wrote ‘The Simpsons’ episode called 'Bart to the Future,' which aired 16 years before Trump became president. In the episode, Lisa, serving as President of the United States, tells her advisor: "As you know, we’ve inherited quite the budget crunch from President Trump." Later on, this line became known as one of the show’s most famous 'predictions.'

Indeed, ‘Bart to the Future’ is far from the only episode of the show that fans believe predicted the future. Ever since its premiere in 1989, the iconic animated series has featured many scenarios that later manifested in real life. 'The Simpsons' has always managed to surprise fans with their prophetic theories and sketches.
