Ever since the 'Stranger Things' series finale was released on Netflix, fans have been split over whether the ending lived up to their expectations. Some viewers were so disappointed that they even believed a secret extra episode would drop on January 7. A conspiracy dubbed “Conformity Gate,” it never happened.

Now, the show is facing more backlash, after fans spotted what they believe are open ChatGPT tabs in a behind-the-scenes documentary, 'Stranger Things: One Last Adventure.' In one scene, creators Matt and Ross Duffer are shown writing the final episode in a Google Doc, prompting online claims that AI was used.

While there is no proof the Duffer brothers relied on generative AI, there has been a growing presence of artificial intelligence in Hollywood, especially in movies, that has sparked widespread debate. Discussions range from its potential to revolutionize storytelling, to concerns about ethical implications and its impact on creativity and employment. Despite these debates, AI has been creatively leveraged on the big screen in various ways, from correcting accents to making animals and utopian worlds look lifelike.
