▲Windsor Castle claims to be the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world. It is open to visitors year-round.

▲Kew Gardens are a hugely popular attraction, but the grounds also contain a royal palace. Kew Palace is the smallest of all the royal palaces. It was originally built as a mansion for a wealthy London silk merchant in 1631.
