Tragically, on the set of Alec Baldwin's film, 'Rust', on October 21, 2021, a woman died and a man was injured after Baldwin reportedly discharged a prop gun during filming. The woman has been identified as Halyna Hutchins, a 42-year-old cinematographer. She was flown to the hospital by helicopter but died of her injuries. A spokesperson for Baldwin said that it was an accident involving the misfiring of a prop gun with blanks.
