Former child star and actress Amanda Bynes disappeared from the spotlight a decade ago. Her worrying behavior was making headlines and her parents put her under conservatorship in 2013 following several run-ins with police and an involuntary psychiatric hold. Bynes later revealed that she had been "on drugs" and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Since then, she has remained mostly out of the public eye. In 2022, her conservatorship was terminated as she had provided evidence that it was "no longer needed" to the court. However, on March 19, 2023, she suffered another mental health crisis.
Bynes was allegedly spotted walking naked around downtown LA on Sunday morning. Reports say that she flagged down a car to ask the driver for help, informing them that she was coming out of a psychotic episode, and called 911 herself. Bynes was taken in by the emergency services and put on a 72-hour psychiatric hold. Thankfully, she was unharmed.
She's been open about her mental health struggles in the past, but after revealing she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, the singer and actress said she's not scared anymore because she's done her research and she's ready to help break the stigma.
The 'Saturday Night Live' star revealed that she has bipolar. "I always feel like just closed in," she said.
