The movie 'Rust' is on its way to gaining notoriety as one of the most tragic and ill-fated productions in history. It all began on October 21, 2021, when Alec Baldwin unintentionally killed the cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured the film's director Joel Souza by firing a malfunctioning prop gun. This devastating incident sparked global outrage and prompted calls for stricter regulations regarding firearms on film sets.

The 1976 movie is widely considered to be one of the most unlucky productions in history. In an unfortunate accident, John Richardson, the special effects designer, experienced a car crash resulting in the decapitation of his girlfriend, mirroring a scene from the movie. Furthermore, an animal handler was killed by a tiger.

Planes carrying cast and crew members were also struck by lightning on three different occasions. In addition, highly trained dogs suddenly disregarded their trainer's instructions and attacked a stuntman.

The Irish Republican Army (IRA), a terrorist organization, also attempted an attack on the cast and crew in London. Finally, Gregory Peck's son took his own life shortly after Peck accepted the role and started filming.

Heather O'Rourke, the actress who portrayed Carol Anne, passed away suddenly at the age of 12 from intestinal stenosis. In another heartbreaking turn of events, the actress Dominique Dunne, who played the older sister in the film, also died. She was murdered by her boyfriend.

Actor Jim Caviezel, who played Jesus, was struck by lightning. However, he was not the sole victim of this occurrence—assistant director Jan Michelini was also hit by lightning, not once, but twice!

In addition, Caviezel experienced pneumonia, hypothermia, and a dislocated shoulder during filming.

A tragic helicopter crash decapitated actor Vic Morrow and killed two children during a scene of the creepy show.

Brandon Lee, the son of Bruce Lee, tragically died on set when a prop gun mysteriously containing a real bullet was fired. He was just 28 years old.

Fincher also deleted several hours of footage in front of actor Jake Gyllenhaal as an experiment to gauge his emotional endurance and determine if he would reach a breaking point and cry.

In multiple apocalyptic twists, a typhoon trashed their sets, someone stole the payroll one night, and çead actor Martin Sheen had a heart attack while they were shooting.

Director Oliver Stone, believing it was beneficial, opted to hire genuine prisoners for his film, leading to a precarious situation where a prison riot scene nearly transformed into a real riot.

George Reeves, known for his role in the 1950s TV series 'Adventures of Superman', was fatally shot at the age of 45. Christopher Reeve, famous for his portrayal of Superman in the 1978 film, had a tragic accident, resulting in paralysis, and passed away at 52.

Elisha Cuthbert's lips were sealed with actual glue during a scene where she was captured.

While shooting the second movie, an incident occurred where a box holding real needles accidentally dropped into the needle pit scene. Production briefly halted as the search for the real needles commenced.

Remember Casey Becker (Drew Barrymore) screaming and crying? Those were real tears! Director Wes Craven would tell Barrymore horrific stories in order to elicit a genuine emotional reaction.

A fire broke out on the set, however, peculiarly, Regan's room remained unharmed. Additionally, the actors Jack MacGowran and Vasiliki Maliaros, who portrayed characters that died in the movie, both passed away during the film's post-production.

During this process, a crew member named Jason Miller was bitten by a highly venomous brown recluse spider. The bite life a gaping wound on his upper arm and the poison made him extremely ill.

According to reports, David Fincher "tortured" his actors by forcing them to repeat scenes until they were exhausted. Sometimes, he made them perform up to 70 takes for a single scene.

While filming a scene, Brad Pitt accidentally broke a windshield with his arm. Director David Fincher decided to incorporate the injury into the script and filming proceeded as planned.
