Piers Morgan is a journalist and media personality who is known all over the world, and has interviewed many interesting and controversial figures—and shared some very controversial opinions about them.
His most infamous opinions are about Meghan Markle, which came to a peak this week after he openly and seemingly baselessly doubted Markle's honesty regarding her suicidal thoughts, which she spoke about in her bombshell Oprah interview. Morgan's comments reportedly racked up tens of thousands of complaints, including from mental health organizations, and his co-star Alex Beresford stepped in for a heated conversation afterwards.
“I understand that you don’t like Meghan Markle. You’ve made it so clear a number of times on this program, and I understand that you had a personal relationship with Meghan Markle and she cut you off,” Beresford said. “Has she said anything about you after she cut you off? She’s entitled to cut you off if she wants to. And yet you continue to trash her.”
Beresford is referring to a 2018 Daily Mail column in which Morgan said he was “ghosted” by Markle in 2016, when they met for drinks in London and met Prince Harry. After that night, Morgan "never heard from her again."
Morgan walked off, and hours later he quit entirely. "On Monday, I said I didn’t believe Meghan Markle in her Oprah interview," he tweeted a day after leaving the show. "I’ve had time to reflect on this opinion, and I still don’t. If you did, OK. Freedom of speech is a hill I’m happy to die on. Thanks for all the love, and hate. I’m off to spend more time with my opinions."
And with that, here are some of the most controversial things he has said over the years. Take a look!
