The young actor's budding career was thrown into jeopardy when they began to exhibit symptoms of severe mental illness in 2020. Repeated stories of public disturbances, troubling behavior, and arrests made headlines frequently. Miller, who stars in 2023's major superhero blockbuster 'The Flash,' spoke out in August 2022 to apologize for their behavior and acknowledge that they were struggling. “Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment,” they said in a statement. A couple of months earlier, a mother of an 11-year-old child reported Miller to police, claiming that the 30-year-old actor had behaved inappropriately in front of the child. She told the media that Miller had forcibly hugged the child and on another occasion, had shown up to their home wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying a gun. A judge granted the family a harassment restraining order, which was lifted after one year. Miller released a statement on Instagram in response, claiming that the entire incident was exaggerated and that the protective services had been misused. 

“Protective orders are meant to provide safety for individuals, families and children who are in danger. They are not meant to be used as weapons by those seeking attention or fleeting tabloid fame or some sort of personal vengeance when there are people in true and dire need of these services," Miller wrote. “I have been unjustly and directly targeted by an individual who the facts have shown has a history of such manipulative and destructive actions."

Rajon Rondo -

NBA star Rajon Rondo was ordered by a judge to stay at least 500 feet from his former partner Ashley Bachelor and their kids following a scary incident where he allegedly pulled a gun on her. According to TMZ,Bachelor says Rajon—a 2x NBA champ and 4x All-Star—was playing video games with his son on May 11, 2022, when she asked the boy to separate laundry. Rondo allegedly became enraged, ripped the game console out of the wall, starting smashing things and threatening Bachelor, then left and returned with a gun outside the back door. He reportedly demanded first his son and then his daughter to come out, yelling at both kids for being afraid of him. It was only when Rondo's parents arrived that he finally took off. 

Apparently it wasn't a totally isolated incident, as Bachelor wrote in an emergency order for protection: "I am extremely fearful for my safety and for the safety of my children. Rajon has a history of volatile, erratic, explosive behavior. He is verbally, emotionally, and financially abusive. He physically hits our son and calls him names..." She continued, "Rajon verbally assaults our daughter." Rajon has made several threats on my life, saying at various times he will shoot me or shoot up my car." She was awarded temporary custody of the two children, and they were granted protection.

Tory Lanez -

Rapper Tory Lanez was charged with felony assault in 2020 for allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the feet on July 12 of that year. He was ordered to pay US$190,000 bail in addition to having a restraining order filed against him that said he couldn't get within 100 yards of Megan. But, he violated the court order to make a surprise appearance at Rolling Loud onstage with DaBaby, an event where Megan was also performing, and TMZ reported that his bail was increased to US$250,000, while his bail conditions were modified to specifically prohibit him from attending events where Megan was in attendance.

Not learning from his mistakes, Lanez violated the restraining order again. Actually, he violated two types of orders, one being a "discovery protective order" and the other a temporary criminal restraining order, and he was remanded into custody on increased bail of US$350,000, NBC reports. Lanez violated the orders by addressing Megan directly on social media and by discussing DNA evidence, prosecutors told the judge. In December 2022, he was found guilty at trial and awaits sentencing.

Christina Ricci’s estranged husband James Heerdegen sought, and was denied, a restraining order against the actress in January 2022. In the order, he accused her of excessive drinking and domestic violence. His order, however, came just days after Ricci herself requested a restraining order against him. Her order was granted. According to Page Six, her attorneys predicted that Heerdegen would strike back after she provided the court with evidence of his alleged domestic abuse.

Chris Brown -

Chris Brown's history of domestic abuse hit the news after he assaulted Rihanna back in 2009. He was ordered to stay 50 yards away from her, and then in 2011 it was changed to a level one restraining order, meaning he could've "peacefully" contacted her, but nothing more. The order was lifted two years later.

After Rihanna, Brown started dating Karrueche Tran on-and-off, until 2017 when they split, but he wouldn't leave her alone. She filed for a restraining order, revealing to a judge various threats from the singer and claiming he was physically abusive in the past.

The actor's relationship with Russian musician Oksana Grigorieva ended very poorly, and she was granted a domestic violence restraining order against him in 2010 that would prohibit the "extremely violent" actor from having any contact with her.

Then, in 2012, the actor's stepmother, Joye Gibson, filed a restraining order against the actor following clashes about how they wanted to deal with her husband's medical treatment. Joye Gibson claimed that the actor's "violent tirades" left her in "fear that he will cause her serious bodily injury."

In 2009, the actor's then-wife Brooke Mueller filed a restraining order against him after claiming that he had hit and threatened her. The restraining order meant Sheen could have no contact with Mueller other than through his attorney.

Then, in 2014, Sheen's ex-fiancée Scottine Ross (also known as Brett Rossi) filed a restraining order against him, claiming that there were incidents of domestic abuse, and alleging that the actor failed to let her know he was HIV-positive.

Soon after, however, Sheen's lawyers were able to get the restraining order lifted, claiming, "Charlie hasn't had any contact with Brett Rossi in more than a year. There was no basis for a restraining order and the court recognized that."

The Canadian model and Halle Berry had a child together and later split up, but things got rocky when, in 2012, Aubry got into a fist fight with her new fiancé, French actor Olivier Martinez. Berry got a temporary restraining order that said Aubry had to stay 100 yards away from her and their daughter.

Aubry then got an emergency restraining order of his own for Martinez, and claimed Martinez had threatened to kill him. The restraining order forbade Martinez from going within 100 yards of Aubry, his home, his workplace, or his daughter's school.

The TV producer is also the ex-husband of Spice Girl Mel B, whom the singer claimed punched her on various occasions and threatened to release sex tapes he secretly recorded. She got a temporary restraining order in 2017, and sole custody of their daughter.

While reports say the singer and his ex-wife Karen Elson had an amicable divorce in 2011, two years later Elson filed a restraining order against White that refrained him from having "any contact with [Elson] whatsoever except as it relates to parenting time with the parties' minor children," according to Rolling Stone.

Elson's case also claimed that White wanted to take their children out of their private school class because the child of a rival musician of his who "ripped off" his music (Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys) was in the same class.

Amber Heard and Johnny Depp's grueling divorce was a roller coaster, and it led Heard to file a temporary restraining order against Depp claiming that he threw an iPhone at her face in 2016, along with other instances of domestic abuse.

The 'Empire' star was accused of domestic abuse by his ex-wife, Michelle Ghent, who claimed the actor beat her up during a trip to Costa Rica. She reportedly went to court in 2013 with a black eye, according to TMZ, and was granted a restraining order that kept Howard from coming within 100 yards of Ghent or contacting her.

Howard told a different story, claiming Ghent maced him, his adult daughter, and another family member. He then tried to get his own restraining order against her, but it wasn't granted.
