Ryan Reynolds opens up about struggle to homeschool children with Blake Lively
© Getty Images
The coronavirus pandemic has drastically changed the way the world works and the roles we have, particularly as children are being told to stay home and parents—most of whom are working—are forced to now help guide their kids through distance learning.
Not even movie stars are having an easy time of it. Like so many parents, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds struggled to take on the role of teachers while their daughters' school was moved online. But in a new interview on the 'SmartLess' podcast on July 19, reported by E! News, Reynolds admitted his wife handled it way better than he did.
"I was seeking out external help left and right," the actor told hosts Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett. "I was reading books. I was trying someway to steer the ship. Blake was so much better at it then I was because I'm also a child."
Though he added that he felt incredibly "fortunate" not to have to worry about money during the pandemic, the experience was still a struggle for their family. "I did a lot of writing," he shared. "I started medication practice. It really did help."
Balancing your child’s education and your job is so tough that even celebrities, with every access to outside help, are struggling! So cut yourself some slack and click through to see what your favorite stars have to say about their at-home learning experience, and maybe pick up a useful tip to help with the kids!
