The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) confirmed the recall on September 10, warning about the health risks associated with

Listeria, especially for pregnant women, the elderly, and those with compromised immune systems. Consumers with packaging dates marked September 18, 2025, with sell-by dates of September 22, 2025, are urged to discard the product immediately or return it to Costco for a refund. No illnesses have been reported at this time, but the FDA continues to monitor the situation closely.

Listeria infection, also known as listeriosis, is caused by the bacteria

Listeria monocytogenes. While eating food contaminated with Listeria isn't serious in most healthy people, it can cause serious illness, especially for pregnant individuals and those with weakened immune systems.
