A new study by Swiss banking giant UBS, published on December 4, reports that the number of billionaires worldwide hit record levels in 2025, driven in part by soaring tech valuations and rising stock prices.
Currently, around 2,900 billionaires hold a combined wealth of US$15.8 trillion, up from roughly 2,700 billionaires with nearly $14 trillion a year earlier. In the United States, the billionaire count climbed to 924, representing almost a third of the global total, while China follows with 470 billionaires.
