Pope Leo XIV announced that Carlo Acutis, the Catholic Church’s first millennial saint, will be officially canonized on September 7.
Acutis, an Italian teenager who passed away from leukemia in 2006 at the age of 15, will be officially declared a saint during a ceremony at St. Peter’s Square, which is expected to draw thousands of young attendees.
Despite his brief life, Acutis used his computer skills to promote the Catholic faith by creating a website that cataloged reports of miracles. In this gallery, you'll get to know the story of Carlo Acutis, the Catholic Church's first millennial saint. Click through to get started.
