The Black Panther Party (BPP) was a political organization that sought to challenge systemic racism in the United States and cultivate political empowerment among its minorities, particularly Black communities. The BPP had chapters all throughout the US, as well as international chapters. The organization sought to challenge abusive practices, such as police violence, while creating autonomous social projects that addressed the pressing needs of its communities, such as food assistance, educational programs, and community health initiatives.
