The projections for the 2025 hurricane season point to a 60% increased chance of severe hurricanes in the US. That means that the nation's most vulnerable hurricane states could experience anywhere between three and five major hurricanes, as well as between 13 and 19 major storms. But are the national and local weather services prepared? Staff shortages and budget cuts worry experts ahead of what promises to be a difficult season.
