In its latest report, the United Nations Commissioner for Refugees
(UNHCR) has warned that, following major cuts to humanitarian budgets,
a total of US$1.4 billion of essential UNHCR programs is being eliminated or put on hold. At the same time, the organization has revealed that around 123 million people had been forced to flee their homes globally due to persecution, conflict, violence, and human rights violations. Of these, 47 million are refugees. Referencing data from UNHCR, Worldwide Concern has compiled a list of the top 10 countries taking in the most refugees in 2025. It makes for distressing reading.
