Gyllenhaal spoke to Deadline after the good news and expressed her hope that the Oscars will only continue to see and celebrate more women telling honest stories that only women could tell. "We’ve gotten used to a certain kind of storytelling, a certain kind of language, a certain kind of hero and heroine that look and behave a certain way,” she said. “I think when space is made for different perspectives, all of those things will change including the language," adding that eventually "We’ll realize that the language that movies were being told in is not the only language. I’m really particularly interested to see what all those new languages look like.”

Many actors say they couldn't imagine doing anything else for a job. However, with successful acting often comes fame and wealth, and with it the ability to try out some interesting new ideas. For these celebrities, that meant taking a seat in the director's chair.
Jesse Eisenberg is next up, and he's already seeing some success. His directorial debut, 'When You Finish Saving the World,' was just announced by Cannes as the opening film for its Critics' Week section. The dramatic comedy follows a politically-committed mother (played by Julianne Moore) and her ambitious musician son (played by Finn Wolfhard), who craves social media fame, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film, premiering May 18, will reportedly have a special, non-competition screening in Cannes.
