Taylor Swift has shattered yet another personal record. With 2.7 million copies sold in the US on its first day, her 12th studio album, 'The Life of a Showgirl,' has become her fastest-selling release to date. The figure, which includes both physical and digital formats, was reported by industry tracker Luminate. Released on October 3, the album surpassed the first-week sales of Swift’s 2024 release 'The Tortured Poets Department,' which moved 2.61 million units in its debut week.

In just 24 hours of sales, 'The Life of a Showgirl' secured the second-largest sales week for any album since Luminate began tracking data in 1991, behind only Adele’s '25.' The pop star set another milestone by selling 1.2 million vinyl copies in the US, breaking her own record of 859,000 set by 'The Tortured Poets Department' and setting a new national record for the most vinyl albums sold in a single week.

But this is far from Swift’s only achievement. Throughout her sparkling career, she has broken numerous records: from being the youngest artist ever to receive a Grammy for Album of the Year when she did so in 2010, to winning that same award for the fourth time (becoming the first artist to do so) in 2024. Indeed, over the years she has set and even broken her own records as she continues to produce music at a phenomenal rate.
