Driving across the States on Route 66 is a transcendental experience, a journey that conjures up images from countless films and songs.
Established in 1926, the 2,448-mile US 66 became one of the most famous highways in the country. Today much of the road is fragmented, having been bypassed by the Interstate Highway System. However, it’s still possible to get your kicks on some segments of the original Route 66.
