For many people, 'Dr. Phil' has been on the air as long as they can remember, but the long-running daytime talk show, hosted by Dr. Phil McGraw, has just announced that its 21st season, concluding in 2023, will be its last.
"I have been blessed with over 25 wonderful years in daytime television," McGraw said in a statement sent to People. "With this show, we have helped thousands of guests and millions of viewers through everything from addiction and marriage to mental wellness and raising children. This has been an incredible chapter of my life and career, but while I'm moving on from daytime, there is so much more I wish to do." And indeed, McGraw might be done with this particular show, but he has big plans with CBS Media Ventures for a new project expected to launch in 2024. McGraw concluded, "I am compelled to engage with a broader audience because I have grave concerns for the American family, and I am determined to help restore a clarity of purpose as well as our core values."
Even though the show has an incredibly long legacy, it's not the only series out there that has been on the air for an impressively long time. Click through this gallery to see the world's longest-running TV shows.
