Elon Musk -

Elon Musk made a surprise appearance on stage at Dave Chappelle's show December 11, 2022, in San Francisco, home of Twitter’s headquarters, and was met with a wave of boos. The new Twitter CEO, who had recently laid off many of its employees, and who'd tweeted transphobic statements and QAnon tropes the very same weekend, was introduced by Chappelle as the world’s richest person, and everything went south from there. After solid minutes of booing, Musk asked Chappelle what he should say and Chappelle replied, “Don’t say nothing. You hear that sound, Elon? That’s the sound of pending civil unrest.”

After the show, Musk tried to spin the story in a tweet: "Technically, it was 90% cheers & 10% boos (except during quiet periods), but, still, that’s a lot of boos, which is a first for me in real life (frequent on Twitter)." Attendees of the show, however, told NBC that Musk’s tweet was inaccurate and that the booing drowned out the cheering. Many believe the tides have shifted regarding Musk's popularity.

Lil Nas X -

Lil Nas X had to pause his show in front of a packed venue in Atlanta for a bathroom emergency. In a fan-shared video on Twitter, you can hear him announcing, "I'm backstage, and this is, like, not a part of the show, but I'm taking a mean s—t, so please forgive me. But I'm gonna be like a minute or two, and I'll be right back."

Though the crowd cheered as if it was a comedic bit, the 'Industry Baby' singer confirmed that he was being serious. On September 30, he reshared the fan video alongside a message that read, "lmao people really thought i was joking, i was literally back there dropping demons into that toilet."

Brad Pitt -

Pitt revealed that he was conned into spending a year searching for buried medieval treasure that never existed beneath the French estate he once shared with ex-wife Angelina Jolie. The actor told GQ that an unnamed man convinced him that the property had “millions of dollars worth of gold” left by the villa’s medieval owners that had been “taken from the Levant during the Crusades and buried on the grounds."

“I got obsessed,” said Pitt, who bought radar equipment to find the treasure. “Like for a year, this was all I could think about, just the excitement of it all. Maybe it has something to do with where I grew up, because in the Ozark Mountains” near his childhood home in Missouri, “there were always stories of hidden caches of gold.” Of course, Pitt didn't find anything, and it turned out the man had successfully targeted him as a potential investor in a radar company. Pitt said the trick left him feeling “pretty foolish in the end," but added, "It was just the hunt that was exciting."

Cara Delevingne -

Cara Delevingne has been known to make many strange appearances, but none weirder than her behavior around Megan Thee Stallion at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards. First she kept comically peeking out at the rapper from behind a corner to watch her pose on the red carpet. Next she was manically tossing the train of Megan's skirt for a photo. Then she sat beside Megan and was seen in a video interrupting Megan's conversation with Doja Cat. As for Megan's feelings on the matter? On May 16 she reposted a photo from a fan account of herself and Doja Cat from the night, but with Delevingne obviously edited out of the shot.

Caitlyn Jenner crossed paths with Lady Gaga outside the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s 30th annual Academy Awards viewing party and gave us so much second-hand embarrassment. "Are you spending time around Malibu anymore?” Jenner asks in a video shared by journalist Bahman Kalbasi, to which Gaga replies, “Yes.” But when the former Olympian mentions, “I haven’t seen you at the Starbucks in a while,” Gaga, looking rather annoyed, explains curtly, “I’ve switched baristas,” before walking away.

Naturally, the cringeworthy exchange went viral, and people described Gaga’s excuse as the new version of Mariah Carey’s infamous “I don’t know her” diss.
