CELEBRITY Humor

Stars aren't perfect. Although fans like to think they're without flaws, and often put their favorite celeb on a pedestal, even the most glamorous of all stars experience an awkward moment or two. From nature calling at the absolute worst moment, or an embarrassing clothes glitch on the red carpet, it's clear that celebrities are not immune to humiliation.

People have been pouring out words of praise for Disney's live-action 'The Little Mermaid,' however singer Paloma Faith decided she has a bone to pick with Halle Bailey's Ariel. She shared on her Instagram Story that she watched the film with her kids "and while I think Halle gives a good performance and it's great casting, as a mother of girls, I don't want my kids to think it's ok to give up your entire voice and your powers to love a man. Wt[ ] is this [ ] ? Not what I want to be teaching next-gen women at all."

That may have passed without much backlash if not for a surprising plot twist: Faith's own tweet resurfaced from 2009 in which she wrote: "when i grow up i want to be the little mermaid." People began wondering why Faith had a different opinion about the live-action version, commenting that it felt racially motivated and clarifying that Ariel actually gives her voice up to be human, and falling in love was just a part of the experience. Many pointed out that the plot is the same as the 1989 version, if not actually more feminist, and some cracked jokes about where Faith was when 'Beauty and the Beast' came out.
