Singer Jessie J was hospitalized after experiencing symptoms that initially pointed to a possible blood clot in her lung, just six weeks after undergoing surgery for early-stage breast cancer. The 37-year-old shared the update on Instagram on August 2, revealing she had returned to the same hospital where her surgery took place.
Doctors later ruled out a clot but identified an unspecified infection and a small amount of fluid in her lungs. “Finding it hard to breathe in,” the singer wrote, adding that she discharged herself and would continue treatment at home. “I hate being in hospital,” she added.
Jessie J first revealed her breast cancer diagnosis two months ago and has since been candid about the emotional and physical toll of her recovery.
Breast cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women worldwide. In countries like the US, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.
