According to director Taika Waititi, his wife Rita Ora was the one who pulled the trigger on their engagement. “She proposed to me, and I said ‘yes’ instantly,” he revealed in an August interview with Vogue. Ora proposed during a vacation in Palm Springs during the summer of 2022 and they got married in their L.A. home a few weeks later. The small ceremony took place on August 4 and included just a few loved ones. “There were about eight people there — just close friends and family, and parents on Zoom,” Waititi said. The guestlist included his two daughters; 11-year-old Te Kāinga and 7-year-old Matewa Kiritapu. Ora, 32, has said that she dreams of expanding her family with Waititi, 47.

The 'Dawson's Creek' alum appeared on 'The Tonight Show' on July 19, 2021, where Jimmy Fallon asked him if he always know he and Turner-Smith would get married. Jackson replied, "I knew the moment she asked me." He explained that she proposed to him on New Year's Eve while walking along a beach in Nicaragua. "It was very beautiful, incredibly romantic," he said.
