More details have emerged regarding Hayden Panettiere’s death.
Police and emergency medical personnel responded to a call from an acquaintance about an unresponsive female. After showing up at the residence in Greenville, South Carolina, on August 16 at approximately 1:51 pm, they found the 36-year-old actress and, according to dispatch audio obtained by People, officials were heard referencing a possible “overdose” and “cardiac arrest” in connection with the emergency response.
EMS personnel administered advanced cardiac life support, but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, and Panettiere was pronounced dead at 2:32 pm, according to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office.
An autopsy was completed on August 17, with officials saying no signs of trauma were found that contributed to Panettiere’s death. The cause and manner of death remain pending further investigation and additional testing.
For decades, drug addiction has been the downfall of many celebrities. It is concerning how easily illicit substances can be acquired, which only exacerbates the problem.
