Olympic villages through the years
From 1924 to 2021
© Getty Images
Olympic athletes and delegations have had dedicated accommodation ever since the Paris Olympics in 1924. While some existing buildings were used in some editions of both Summer and Winter Olympics, new accommodation was purposely built for most of the Games.
The architecture of Olympic villages varies throughout the world. Small houses gave way to multi-story apartment buildings, and while most are now being used as residential buildings, others have been abandoned.
In this gallery we bring you some of the most iconic Olympic villages throughout the years. Click on!
