Nuclear weapons

Russia has tested a new nuclear-capable cruise missile designed to bypass modern defense systems, moving it closer to deployment, President Vladimir Putin announced on October 26.

The Burevestnik missile, which traveled 14,000 kilometers (8,700 miles) during the recent test, has been under development for years. The test is part of the Kremlin’s escalating nuclear posture, as it rejects Western pressure to halt its war in Ukraine and warns NATO against allowing long-range strikes inside Russia.

But which countries host the most nuclear weapons? Click on to find out.
