"Father Frank, Full of Grace" from 'Shameless' -

After a successful 11 seasons, Showtime's 'Shameless' aired its series finale on April 11, 2021, called "Father Frank, Full of Grace." But the episode left many fans of the Gallagher crew less than satisfied, as the troubled patriarch, played by William H. Macy, dies of COVID-19 and many questions about other characters go unanswered. There was also unfulfilled hope among fans that Emmy Rossum, who left the show in season nine, would return for the finale to reprise her role, though old footage was included.

"The Bells" from 'Game of Thrones' - The series' penultimate episode was the lowest-rated in the show's history on Rotten Tomatoes, followed up by "The Last of the Starks" from the week prior. The last season has been deemed too rushed, and the characters were poorly written out.

"The Puerto Rican Day" from 'Seinfeld' - This episode sparked such a backlash that NBC actually apologized for it. The gang gets stuck in traffic during a parade, awful stereotypes are enacted, and Kramer even burns a Puerto Rican flag, although by accident.

"Bedtime Stories" from 'How I Met Your Mother' - The series finale, "Last Forever," is one of the most hated series finales, but as for regular episodes, "Bedtime Stories" takes the cake. The gimmick for the filler episode is that it takes the form of a bedtime story, complete with constant rhyming that annoyed audiences.

"The Lost Sister" from 'Stranger Things' - Fans unanimously hated the episode where Eleven travels to Chicago, meets her sister Kali, and embraces her dark side. Many thought it was an unsatisfying follow-up to a cliffhanger from the previous episode.

"Fly" from 'Breaking Bad' - Though it's the show's most frequently disliked episode, there are an equal number of fans who think it's actually one of the best. This bottle episode takes place entirely in the lab, with Walt obsessing over a fly. Some argue it has character development, others argue it was too slow and insignificant.

"Stranger in a Strange Land" from 'Lost' - The entire series had gotten lost itself, resulting in filler episodes like this one, devoted to explaining the origins of Jack's tattoos—something absolutely no one was wondering about.

"The Banker" from 'The Office' - An investment banker comes to meet with Toby to find out about the office, and the rest of the episode is a clip show. After six weeks of silence, this comeback was lazy.

"Fear Her" from 'Doctor Who' - In a poll from 2015, this episode where the Doctor and Rose travel to London, where kids are disappearing because of a girl's drawings, ranked the worst. The acting, setting, and plot were boring to most.

"Lisa Goes Gaga" from 'The Simpsons' - By far the series' lowest-rated episode on IMDB, it centered on Lady Gaga helping Lisa be her true self, but came off as another cheap way to capitalize on popular celebrities.

"Bloodlines" from 'Supernatural' - During Season 9, there was supposed to be a spin-off, for which this episode was supposed to be a backdoor pilot. The acting and writing was so poorly received that the spin-off never happened.

"Frank's Brother" from 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' - With its long run, a bad episode was inevitable. The show was experimenting in Season 7 by introducing Frank's brother Gino, along with a flashback to the '70s, but many thought it wasn't funny, and didn't include most of the gang.

"A Million Little Fibers" from 'South Park' - Another episode that doesn't have the main characters it. The focus is on Towelie, who writes a memoir and goes on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show,' only to have things get vulgar, violent, and senseless—and not in a funny way.

"The One with the Invitation" from 'Friends' - All five of the series' clip shows land at the bottom of the rankings, with this episode voted the worst ever. Fans always wanted new content!

"Black Market" from 'Battlestar Galactica' - Apollo investigates a black market, sleeps with a prostitute, and kills a child trafficker in cold blood in a sort of film noir style that fans thought was out of tone for the show and a waste of time.

"Beer Bad" from 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' - Fans agree that this standalone episode where Buffy and some guys drink beer that turns them into beer-crazy cavemen was a flop. The moral tale (warning about alcohol) was reportedly written in part to receive money from the Office of National Drug Control Policy.

"Shades of Gray" from 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' - This lazy clip show, born from the writer's strike season of 1989, was one of the most poorly reviewed episodes in the history of 'Star Trek,' and currently holds a rating of 3.4 out of 10 on IMDb.

"Remember the Monsters?" from 'Dexter' - The IMDb rating for the series finale was a stunningly low 4.9, largely due to the abandonment of Dexter's series-long character arc.

"Indian Takers" from 'Arrested Development' - This episode was another good example of what happens when you spend an episode on the least compelling characters.

"Calling All Cars" from 'The Sopranos' - Fans called this episode disappointing, slow, and awkward. Bobby burying a cake next to his wife was more bizarre than anything, and Janice's behavior with Bobby's kids was hard to watch.

"Advanced Introduction to Finality" from 'Community' - Without showrunner Dan Harmon, Season 4 was off, most obviously in the season finale. It took a funny "dark timeline" bit and stretched it over a whole episode, while also using the paintball gimmick as a crutch. Plus, the it-was-all-a-dream ending proved the whole thing pointless.

"The Cognition Regeneration" from 'The Big Bang Theory' - Near the end of Season 10, Penny reconnecting with an ex makes Leonard jealous, and for some reason there's a sub-plot that involves an evil ventriloquist's dummy... seriously.

"Swear" from 'The Walking Dead' - The show's decision to split up the group and make a string of standalone episodes fell flat, and none more so than for this episode which focused on Tara's solo adventure.

"The Final Problem" from 'Sherlock' - For a show that is supposed to make clever, logical conclusions, it veered heavily into fantasy, abandoning explanations and deeply upsetting fans.

"The End" from 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' - Larry finds out he's adopted and spends the episode with his new family, then he finds out he's not adopted. Then he dies, and soon comes back to life. That's two fake-outs too many.

"My Princess" from 'Scrubs' - The fairy-tale treatment of this episode was gimmicky at best, and the over-exaggerated characters didn't perform the show's function: to make people laugh.

In the first episode of Season 4, Eric has a dream which predicts what happens in the '80s, and while the series was never too serious, that was a bit of a stretch for fans.
