Jessica Simpson says she would be open to meeting a potential romantic partner through social media, provided they meet one key requirement. Speaking to TMZ while arriving at Los Angeles International Airport on June 23, Simpson was asked whether she would consider someone reaching out via direct message. The singer replied that she would, adding with a laugh that being verified on the platform would likely help.
The comments come months after Simpson’s separation from her husband, Eric Johnson, following 10 years of marriage. The former couple share three children. In April, reports emerged that Simpson had begun dating musician Thomas Eisenhood.
Indeed, dating has certainly come a long way from old forms of courtship, both for the better and for the worse. The times are currently calling for online dating, with an app or website available for every kind of preference, all in the name of love (or lust).
But romance can be found online without using a service, with something almost everyone already has: social media. It's kind of like walking up to someone and sliding them your number, except it's also completely different! And there are actually a lot of celebrities who have found love on social media, whether they slid into someone's DMs or used their platform to proclaim their admiration for that special someone.
