Doing press is more or less obligatory for most celebrities. Often if you’re an athlete, singer, or actor, it will be built into your contract. This is normally the case when a musician is releasing or has released a new album or an actor has a new TV series or film coming out. Most grin and bear the monotony and repetitiveness of it, but some celebrities have bowed out. And in some cases, it even worked in their favor.
