Margaret Keane
- The latest one to leave us is artist Margaret Keane, famed for her paintings of sad-eyed waifs, whose husband infamously took credit for her work. Keane sued her husband in 1986 and had to prove in court she had created the artworks by painting them in front of a judge. Director Tim Burton turned her story into a film called 'Big Eyes,' in 2014. The 94-year-old artist died peacefully on June 26 at her home in Napa, California, according to a statement on social media.

Caleb Swanigan
- Former NBA star Caleb Swanigan died at the age of just 25 on June 20, Purdue University confirmed. The former Portland Trail Blazers player reportedly passed away from natural causes. Swanigan, who made 75 appearances and four starts during his three seasons in the NBA, was drafted as the No. 26 overall pick in 2017 by the Trail Blazers, and after two seasons he was traded to the Sacramento Kings in 2019, before moving back to the Portland team in 2020. But he soon left the NBA for "personal reasons," which were reportedly his ongoing health issues.

- Bon Jovi founding member and bassist Alec John Such died at the age of 70. The famed band announced Such's death June 5 with a heartfelt tribute on Twitter. "We are heartbroken to hear the news of the passing of our dear friend Alec John Such," they wrote. "He was an original. As a founding member of Bon Jovi, Alec was integral to the formation of the band." Such helped form the band in 1983 and later quit in 1994.

Marion Barber III
- Former NFL running back Marion Barber III, who played with the Dallas Cowboys for six years, passed away at the age of 38. Reports state that Barber was found dead in his apartment after police were called to respond to a "welfare concern" at his address on June 1. The former football star retired from the NFL 10 years ago, but not before earning the nickname 'Marion the Barbarian.' No cause of death was provided.

- Actress Liz Sheridan, a veteran stage and screen actress who played the mother on 'Seinfeld' and had a recurring role as the snoopy neighbor Mrs. Ochmonek on 'ALF,' passed away on April 15 in her sleep, at 93 years old. Many have paid tribute to the TV mom, including the 'Seinfeld' star himself, who tweeted, "Liz was always the sweetest, nicest TV mom a son could wish for. Every time she came on our show it was the coziest feeling for me. So lucky to have known her." His co-star Jason Alexander wrote that "She was as gracious and graceful a person and actress as you’ll ever meet. Fascinating life. Wonderful lady."

Gilbert Gottfried
- Comedian Gilbert Gottfried, owner of the most recognizable voice in Hollywood—who got his start on 'SNL' and quickly became famed for his politically incorrect, challenging humor, and famously played parrot Iago in 'Aladdin'—died on April 12 at the age of 67, after battling a long illness, his family announced. His publicist told the Washington Post that he died of myotonic dystrophy type 2, a form of muscular dystrophy. “We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Gilbert Gottfried after a long illness," his family wrote on Twitter. "In addition to being the most iconic voice in comedy, Gilbert was a wonderful husband, brother, friend and father to his two young children. Although today is a sad day for all of us, please keep laughing as loud as possible in Gilbert’s honor."

Taylor Hawkins
- Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins died March 25 at the age of 50. “The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins,” the band wrote in a statement. “His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family." No cause of death was announced, although local media reports that he was found in his hotel room before the band was to perform at a festival in Bogota, Colombia, according to Variety. A statement from Colombia's Prosecutors' Office on March 26 also detailed that Hawkins had 10 different psychoactive substances in his system at the time of his death, CBS reports. Hawkins will be remembered as one of the best rock drummers of recent times, and as one of the great platonic loves of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl's life.

William Hurt
- Oscar-winning actor William Hurt, famed for his role in 'Kiss of the Spider Woman' (1985), died on March 13 at the age of 71. The actor, who also had Best Actor nods in the mid-1980s for 'Children of a Lesser God' (1986) and 'Broadcast News' (1987) and a Supporting Actor nod for 'A History of Violence' most recently had a role in Marvel's Cinematic Universe, in several films leading up to 'Avengers: Infinity War' (2018).
