According to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner, Daveigh Chase, who was also known as Daveigh Schwallier, died of AIDS on June 16 at the age of 35, with the secondary cause of death listed as "chronic polysubstance use."
Apart from being known for voicing Lilo in ‘Lilo & Stitch’ (2002), the late actress was also widely praised for her role in the cult classic horror film ‘The Ring’ (2002).
Earlier, her boyfriend, Roy Hernandez, told the media that the actress died after losing her battle with meningitis and an infection that caused septic issues. Her father, John David Schwalleir, who arrived at the hospital moments before Chase died, also spoke to the media, saying that he and his daughter hadn’t spoken in more than 15 years. He also shared that she had struggled with drug addiction since her teenage years and had been homeless, living in Los Angeles with her boyfriend.
