A message about King Charles' personal experience with cancer will be broadcast this December 12 at 8 pm local time in the UK, as part of the Stand Up to Cancer campaign. The initiative is jointly organized by Cancer Research UK and broadcaster Channel 4.
While the King is unlikely to disclose the type of cancer he had, he will focus on his "recovery journey" and emphasize the importance of screening to prevent cancer. This, along with raising funds, is the objective of the Stand Up to Cancer annual campaign.
Unfortunately, cancer affects millions of people throughout the world. Though there are some things we can do to try and prevent it, such as adopting a healthy lifestyle, this doesn't necessarily mean we'll be safe from cancer. For this reason, running screening tests plays a crucial role in the early detection, treatment, and outcome of cancer.
