Emma Heming Willis revealed in an ABC special that her husband, Bruce Willis, now resides in a separate, single-story home nearby, designed for his dementia care and with 24/7 support. The decision, made with their daughters’ well-being in mind, balances proximity with peace. Despite cognitive decline, Bruce remains physically active, and the family frequently visits for breakfast and dinner.

Willis' family made the shocking announcement in the spring of 2022 that he was stepping away from acting because he had been diagnosed with aphasia, a disorder that affects the ability to communicate. Sadly, his condition progressed, and in February 2023, his family shared that he had a more specific diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia (FTD).

FTD is an umbrella term for a group of brain disorders that primarily affect the brain's frontal and temporal lobes. These areas of the brain are generally associated with personality, behavior, and language.
