Bryan Johnson, the tech millionaire who has become famous for trying to reverse aging and “defeat death,” has revealed that he has been diagnosed with autoimmune gastritis. The chronic condition causes the immune system to attack the stomach lining, with Johnson writing in a June 30 post on X that his “stomach is eating itself.”
Johnson said he had lived for years with low ferritin levels before further testing confirmed the condition. He also claimed the disease may be linked to years of fast food, sugary drinks, stress, depression, and weight gain before he began his extreme anti-aging routine.
The tech entrepreneur, who reportedly spends around US$2 million a year on health testing and treatments, said he now plans to track the disease through blood tests and biopsies while managing it with experimental approaches. There is currently no cure, but he argues that no condition should be dismissed as incurable in the age of AI and advanced medicine.
