Multiple reports say President Donald Trump has played a key role in pushing Paramount Skydance to revive the 'Rush Hour' franchise, more than 20 years after the last film was released.
According to entertainment journalist Matthew Belloni, the studio has secured funding for 'Rush Hour 4' and reached a distribution deal with Warner Bros. The sequel had been stalled for years, as studios hesitated to move forward with director Brett Ratner, who's career largely ended in 2017 after several actresses accused him of misconduct—allegations he denied and for which he was never charged.
